About Us

Dean Brown is the founder and CEO of Mortgage Capital Management. Since 1994, MCM has effectively helped mortgage bankers maximize profitability, decrease earnings volatility and powerfully manage their risks.

Dean is one of the longest-running Secondary Marketing service providers in the industry. Since 1984, he has held positions including Senior Vice President of Secondary Marketing for First Interstate Bank, Vice President of Secondary Marketing at The Hammond Company, and Assistant Vice President of Asset and Liability Management with Security Pacific Bank. Dean’s extensive knowledge of the industry resulted in him personally conceptualizing MCM’s unique offerings of consulting, pipeline, interest rate risk management, services and tools. He is an active member of the Mortgage Bankers Association.

Dean has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Claremont McKenna College and an MBA from the University of San Diego. Dean also has held his California real estate broker’s license since 1991.

Matt is the newest addition to the team at MCM. He has worked in systems development for Solar Turbines, Inc. located in San Diego for six years prior to joining MCM. His work included developing controls systems for the optimized operation and maintenance of gas turbine fired power plants, cogeneration facilities, and natural gas plants. Matt earned his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of San Diego.

In May of 2016, Matt obtained his MBA from San Diego State University where he concentrated on Finance and Business Analytics. During his studies he worked with FICO analytics to develop algorithms to better predict credit risk while simultaneously increasing revenue. Matt is looking forward to learning the Mortgage Banking Industry from top to bottom and applying his unique perspective to help MCM better leverage available technologies and improved analytic capabilities.

John started with MCM in September, 2002. He started as an analyst and progressed to his current position as Operations Manager quickly. Prior to MCM, John was a Registered Associate with Salomon Smith Barney working with the Director of Investments, executing client orders and dealing with operation issues. John has also worked with Chase Hambrecht & Quist and Allstate Insurance Company.

John has a MBA and a Bachelors of Science from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

Jennifer worked as a consultant for MCM beginning in 1999 and joined the team as the Controller in 2012. She is responsible for the delivery of finance services such as accounting, reporting, payroll and insurance management. Jennifer has over 20 years of experience in professional services including accounting, taxation and business advisory and worked previously at Haskell & White in Orange County as well as Ernst & Young in San Diego. In addition to her work at MCM, she manages her own accounting/tax practice.

Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Cal State San Marcos in 1993 and has been licensed as an active Certified Public Accountant since 2002.

Since 2010, Kris has supported MCM's technical development process by working with FSI engineers to orchestrate the creation and maintenance of new reporting tools and functionality. Kris’ background, coupled with his almost 10 years of IT experience in both software and hardware, has proved to be a valuable asset in navigating such a rapidly evolving ecosystem.

Kris graduated from the University of the Pacific with a Double Major in Business and Economics.

Forward Slope Inc. (FSI) is a San Diego based IT firm that specializes in data security and financial software systems. FSI analysts work daily onsite with MCM staff to provide clients with data and systems security and maintenance and software development required in the ever changing mortgage banking environment.
